harddisk quick format and long format whats the diff?

installing a new harddisk what format should i go for quick or long? this is a 200gb harddisk so how long would the long one take?

difference between a quick format and a full format is that the quick format does not do cluster checking, where as the normal full format will check each cluster of the hard disk for errors after it has been formatted.quick format will tame about 15 mins and normal format sud take 1hr-1.5hrs.I would recommend anormal long format.

QUICK FORMAT is better, if u frequently FORMAT ur Hard disk ... If u are setting up a new drive , always go for FULL FORMAT >>>
