My 200 gb sata hard disk just crashed now everytime my computer reboots the hard disk makes a clicking sound. It does not get detected even in BIOS. This hard drive contained all my precious files!! What do i do now? I tried several file rocvery programs but they are useless as the harddrive doesnt even get detected so they cant recover my files! :(

There is almost nothing you can do, if you here the clicking sound in your harddisk. I suggest you call in data recovery specialist if the data lost if very important they charge an arm and leg but will get the work done. Meanwhile stop using that particular harddisk because the more you use it the more damaged it gets and the less likely you will be able to recover your data.

Plug the HD in some other PC and use data recovery software 'PC Inspector File Recovery' to recover the DATA. Google to search the DOWNLOAD link. And regarding HD, check if its in Guarantee Perid ...

WHOA! WHOA! Dude, the Click means a platter has been cracked! immediatly take it to Service center, if it's under warranty, you will geta brand new one.

Don't you think a click could also mean that read/write pin has gotten stuck somewhere inside. But I guess the diagnosis will still be the same get a new hdd, but worse if the pin has been floating all over the surface, if this happens kiss ur data hasta la vista

btw how d u guys like my avatar pic a porsche 911GT2 with flamers

Nope, the clcik sound could also mean the thing is toasted, also, if a Pin Break, it won't give a click, hard drive are moved by linear motor, which normally rotates 7200 a Minute, this process is very very precise, see everything we do, the motor rotates and writes data onto platters, if the motor is moved even half mm, whole hard disk is has gone to hell! i know this, because a year ago, my samsung SPO802N HDD, give it a break! thankfully it was in warranty, so i got a new one, and you should too go and give to repairs to an authorized service center.
really? i though it was Porshe 911 Turbo, from Tomarrow Never Dies shoaoting Bullets from it's MC Gun ffrom front :)
